We’ve heard a lot of new details regarding a second stimulus package and even one more round of direct payments to Americans but a lot of the new details have been pretty open to interpretation.
And in other instances the details have been flat out pessimistic or negative, with Republicans dismissing the idea of more checks.
But President Trump just revealed some pretty clear details that signal that more stimulus checks will likely be happening.
When asked in an interview with Scripps (local TV news) whether he’s going to give Americans another round of checks, Trump responded: “Yeah, we are. We are.”
When asked how much money it will be, he simply responded, “You’ll find out about it. You’ll find out.”
He also claimed that the next stimulus package will be “very generous.”
A White House official told NBC News that a new round of direct payments is “part of something the economic team is studying,” but added, “No decisions made yet.”
Since the past couple of months this has been the clearest signal from the president and from the White House that more stimulus checks are coming.
At every interview to this point, the president has stopped short of fully committing to more checks but now he has just made the commitment, per NBC.
While the final decisions have not been made (and those decisions must also come from the Senate), it looks more likely than ever that more checks will be going out.

The big question is will the amount be the same that was proposed in the HEROES Act? And will the changes to eligibility stick?
Regardless of the amount and eligibility, I think we can expect is to probably go out in August or early September based on precedent.
