The credit card industry has really tapped into the dining industry over the past few years. All of the best credit card issuers have focused on dining rewards, allowing us to earn high bonus rates like 4X on dining as well as use special dining credits.

Capital One has been a large player in the dining space as well, especially with the Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card which earns 4% back on dining purchases.

But now they have a new dining perk they are offering and in this article I will tell you all about it.

I will also give you all of the current locations for the special restaurants that you can use this new perk at.

The new dining perk

Now some of your Capital One cards will come with a new benefit which is access to premium reservations with OpenTable (the restaurant reservations app). Now, you can make reservations (for free) during some of the busiest times at some fantastic restaurants all around the country. 

If you don’t currently have a Capital One card, I would recommend looking into the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card with its high early spend bonus of 50,000 points worth $500 (after spending $3,000 in the first three months). Learn more about how to apply here.

Capital One debit cards and private label retail credit cards are not eligible for the new perk.

How it works

All you need to do is download the OpenTable app and then verify that you have a Capital One card by visiting this website right here (on mobile). Once you have the app downloaded you will see a purple button at the bottom that says “Verify Capital One card.”

You will then need to put in your name and credit card number. After you input your card details your account should be instantly verified. 

Once you open the app you simply scroll down to “Premium Access Restaurants” and select view all. Then, when you are searching for premium reservations the premium slots will show up in purple and you can select those. 

A couple of terms and conditions to note: 

• Premium Access reservations are limited to 2-tops and 4-tops only.
• Premium Access reservations are not eligible to receive points
• This reservation type is non-refundable
