New IHG Promotion “4 x 2020” (Up to 31% back!)

Hotel promotions are always interesting because you never know how valuable the promo is going to be. Well, there is a new IHG promotion called the “4 x 2020” that has the potential to be extremely valuable and I will give you all of the details below.

Tip: Use WalletFlo for all your credit card needs. It’s free and will help you optimize your rewards and savings!

The new “4 x 2020” IHG promotion

  • You must register for the promotion and you can do that here.
  • Book by book by 15 April, 2020
  • Stay between 15 February, 2020 and 15 May, 2020
  • Total spend for booking a qualifying night must be over $30 USD with a minimum stay of 1 night
  • Maximum bonus points award per member for the Promotion is 301,000 points
  • Only one room per member per Qualifying Stay will be awarded the applicable bonus points

Here are the details of the promotion:

  • Earn 1000 Bonus Points on your First Night
  • Earn 2 x Bonus Points on Nights 2-5 (up to 100K points)
  • Earn 3 x Bonus Points on Nights 6-14 (up to 100K points)
  • Earn 4 x Bonus Points on Nights 15+ (up to 100K points)

Earning potential

As an IHG member you would earn 10 bonus points for every dollar that you spend so this is what the bonus rates come out to:

  • Earn 2 x Bonus Points on Nights 2-5 (20X)
  • Earn 3 x Bonus Points on Nights 6-14 (30X)
  • Earn 4 x Bonus Points on Nights 15+ (40X)

And then remember that you will also earn additional bonus points if you have elite status with IHG. For example, you can get a 50% bonus earning on your base points as a Platinum Elite member.

This means that you would earn an additional five points per dollar spent on your nights and your totals would look like this:

  • Earn 2 x Bonus Points on Nights 2-5 (25X)
  • Earn 3 x Bonus Points on Nights 6-14 (35X)
  • Earn 4 x Bonus Points on Nights 15+ (45X)

The IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card also earns 10X on IHG purchases so if you have that card you could earn the following rates:

  • Earn 2 x Bonus Points on Nights 2-5 (35X)
  • Earn 3 x Bonus Points on Nights 6-14 (45X)
  • Earn 4 x Bonus Points on Nights 15+ (55X)

Using WalletFlo valuations of .56, this means that your return on your spend could be up to 31% which is pretty fantastic.

This is extra interesting because the IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card (which gives you Platinum status) currently comes with a monster limited-time 140K bonus after meeting the minimum spend. So this would be an ideal time to jump on the card for some people. You can find a detailed review of the IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card here.

IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card

IHG credit card offer

The IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card comes with the following features:

  • Annual free night certificate
  • 10X for spend at IHG
  • 2X at gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants
  • Automatic Platinum Elite Status
  • 20% discount on purchases of IHG points
  • 4th night free on award stays
  • Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit of up to $100 every 4 years
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • $89 annual fee

Final word

Anytime you can get your earnings above 30% with a promo that is a great deal. So if you have upcoming IHG stays then you will be able to really bring in some value over the next few months. Also, if you have future stays up in the air I do think that these earning rates are good enough to swing your stay toward them if you can hit the triple or quadruple mark with your returns and you have the IHG card.

IHG PointBreaks & 4X Promotion

Right now is a great time to cash in on some IHG deals. There are two different deals you’ll want to consider. The first is the IHG PointBreaks promo and the second is the IHG 4X promo. Both of these can be lucrative. Keep reading below for more details.

IHG PointBreaks

IHG PointBreaks (often called IHG Points Break) is a program that offers discounted award booking rates at well over 100 IHG properties around the world.

For the longest time, IHG PointBreaks hotels would only go for 5,000 a night. Many of these 5,000/night properties were Holiday Inn’s out in the middle of nowhere and and the Points Break promotion wasn’t as lucrative as it once was.

But now properties can be booked in tiers at: 5,000, 10,000, and 15,000 points.

Some hotels are still in smaller cities but you can still find some properties in major cities. Some of the better quality hotels do go quickly so sometimes you have to act quickly. You can check out the IHG PointBreaks page here to see which hotels are eligible. This is good for stays through January 31, 2020.

Note:  Each member may only book two PointBreaks Reward Nights reservations per hotel during the special offer time period.

Tip: Use WalletFlo for all your credit card needs. It’s free and will help you optimize your rewards and savings!

IHG 4X Promotion

You can now also earn up to 4X bonus points on IHG stays after your 4th stay (up to 200K points). Here’s how the promo works. You will earn:

  • First stay = 1,000 bonus points
  • Second stay = 2X bonus points
  • Third stay = 3X bonus points
  • Fourth stay and after = 4X bonus points

You will need to register and book by December 15, 2019 and you can earn with bookings through January 31, 2020. You can sign-up for the promotion here.

IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card

Remember that the IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card (full card review) is one of the best cards for earning points on hotel spend, offering a whopping 10X on IHG properties.

The IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card comes with the following features:

  • Annual free night certificate
  • 10X for spend at IHG
  • 2X at gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants
  • Automatic Platinum Elite Status (read more about this status here)
  • 20% discount on purchases of IHG points
  • 4th night free on award stays
  • Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit of up to $100 every 4 years
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • $89 annual fee

If you value IHG points at ~.7 cents per point then 10X is a ~7% return on IHG purchases on top of what you’ll be receiving as a Platinum elite member which is around 10% back. So that’s a total of 17% back plus what you can earn with this 4X promotion, which could be extremely lucrative.

Final word

These are solid promos to jump on. If you can earn the full 4X on bonus points along with the 10X on the IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card, that’s an insane amount of points you’re getting for your stays.

New Lyft and Hilton Promotion 2019

Ride share giants like Lyft and Uber have been busy partnering up with loyalty and rewards programs for a while now. And now there’s a new special offer you can take advantage of with Lyft and Hilton where you can earn extra Hilton points and save cash money on your Lyft rides. Keep reading below for details.

The Lyft and Hilton Offer

Free 1,000 Hilton points

  • From October 3, 2019 through November 15, 2019, members who link their Hilton Honors and Lyft accounts and complete an eligible Lyft ride will receive 1,000 Hilton Honors Points.

1,000 Hilton points is worth about $5, so it’s not a huge gain but it’s easy to earn, especially if you already use ride share services. And you’ll also be able to take advantage of more savings below.

Bonus Hilton points on Lyft rides

When your account is linked, you’ll be earning 3X Hilton points per $1 spent on Lyft rides and 2X Hilton points per $1 on Lyft shared rides. You can earn 3X on up to $10,000 USD of eligible Lyft spend per calendar year.

Save up to $15

You can also get $5 off for your first three Lyft rides if you’re a new user. Note: this only applies to rides taken within 30 days of signing up.

This promo will show up in the “Promos” section of their Lyft account profile and automatically be applied.

(Base Ride fares for Lyft Shared, Lyft, Lyft Lux, Lyft Lux XL, Lyft Black, Lyft Black XL and Lyft Access are all applicable for earning Hilton Honors Points.)

How to link your account

If you don’t have a Lyft account, you’ll have to set one up. It doesn’t take that long but you’ll need a credit card on hand to complete the process.

To make sure your accounts are actively linked, visit the Connected Services page on Lyft.com. You should see a “Hilton Honors & Lyft Partnership” in the Connected Apps section if your accounts are linked. Note, the accounts will still be linked even if you uninstall and reinstall the Lyft app.

Terms and Conditions to note

  • Eligible Lyft Ride” means any paid Lyft Ride requested and completed using the Lyft app within the United States or Canada after registering the Linked Account.
  • Hilton Honors members who have a Linked Account prior to the start of the Promotional Period are not eligible for this offer.
  • Members who de-link and re-link their Lyft accounts during the Promotional Period are not eligible for this offer.
  • Hilton Honors members who Link Accounts and complete an Eligible Lyft Ride will be bonused 1,000 Hilton Honors Points within 4 weeks of the Promotional Period end date.

Final word

Personally, I use Uber but this is an easy way to earn 1,000 Hilton points for a ride you were probably already going to book. The Hilton and Lyft partnership allowing 3X on rides is pretty nice, too — read more about the partnership here.

New Hilton Promotion (Up to 54X Bonus Points) Q4 [2019 to 2020]

Hilton has just released the details for its final promotion of 2019 and it’s called “Power Up.” This is overall a decent promotion but it could be very lucrative for certain credit card holders. Keep reading below for more details of the Hilton Q4 promotion.

New 2019 Hilton Promotion

  • Earn Double Points on stays completed between September 9 to January 5
  • Earn Triple Points on stays completed between September 9 to January 5 if you hold an Amex Hilton card and use it for your Hilton stay.

Sometimes it can be a little confusing to figure out what hotels mean by “double” and “triple” points, especially if you are a newbie. So here is what Hilton means:

  • “Double Points” means you will receive a bonus equal to the number of Base Points earned during a stay.
  • “Triple Points” means you will receive a bonus equal to twice the number of Base Points earned during a stay.

If you are an American Express Hilton card holder this could be a very lucrative promotion. For example, if you held the Hilton Aspire, you could come out pretty big on this promotion by earning the following rates:

  • 10X base points
  • 10X bonus for Diamond status
  • 20X bonus with the “Power Up” promotion
  • 14X bonus for holding and using an Aspire card

That would be 54 Hilton points per dollar spent! If you valued Hilton points at half a cent per point that would be like getting 27% back on your purchase which is pretty outstanding. Read my breakdown on Hilton points value if you want to find out Hilton points could be worth more than .5 cents.

I don’t usually recommend jumping on credit cards because of promotions but the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass Card would be a great choice right now since it’s offering 130,000 points and a free weekend night reward after you spend $4,000 in the first 4 months. It also earns a very respectable 12X per dollar spent at Hilton. Update: Offer expired.

Tip: Use WalletFlo for all your credit card needs. It’s free and will help you optimize your rewards and savings!

Link to register

Note: Many are experiencing errors when attempting to register, so you might have to try to attempt to register again sometime tomorrow (8/26). Just bookmark this page if you have any issues.

If you have questions about the new Hilton promotion you can find the FAQ here

Key Terms

  • Must travel September 9, 2019 through January 5, 2020
  • Must use a Hilton Honors Credit Card to get the 3X the points (you can’t just be a cardholder)

Other Hilton promos

There are some additional promotions that you also want to be aware of.

Semi-targeted promotion

The first is the semi-targeted promotion that allows you to earn up to 7,500 additional points. Here are those terms.

  • Stay once to earn 2,500 Bonus Points
  • Book a second stay to earn an additional 5,000 Bonus Point, for a total of 7,500 Bonus Points

This promo requires two separate stays (as opposed to nights), so make sure you’re clear on that distinction. You can register for this promotion here.

  • Offer valid for stays now through January 31, 2020
  • Registered Hilton Honor participants must complete stay challenge and complete up to two paid stays during the Promotional Period to obtain Hilton Honors Bonus Points.

Q3 promotion

Also, do you still have a couple of weeks to take advantage of the Q3 promotion. It’s known as “go more, get more points” and allows you to earn points the following ways:

  • Members will earn double Hilton Honors Bonus Points beginning on their second stay during the Promotion Period.
  • Members will earn an additional Bonus once completing certain stay requirements:
    • Additional 10,000 Bonus Points after competing 10 stays
    • Additional 15,000 Bonus Points after completing 5 more stays (total of 15 stays within the promotion period)
    • Additional 20,000 Bonus Points completing of 5 more stays (total of 20 stays within the promotion period)
  • Promotion Stay Dates: May 6 – September 8, 2019

As always, you’ll need to register for the promotion in order to earn points. There are also ongoing status matches for Hilton Gold.

Hilton Playa del Carmen.

Final word

For those who hold the Hilton card this is a great opportunity to rack up a crazy amount of points on a big stay. If you regularly choose to redeem your Hilton points at top properties were you can get exceptional value than this promotion could be crazy valuable.

New Hilton Promotion (7,500 Bonus Points) [2019]

Hilton is known for its constant promotions and sometimes they offer multiple promos at the same time. Right now, you might be able to take advantage of multiple promos by going on a couple of stays at Hilton properties. I’ll give you all the details below.

New Hilton Offer

  • Stay once to earn 2,500 Bonus Points
  • Book a second stay to earn an additional 5,000 Bonus Point, for a total of 7,500 Bonus Points

This promo requires two separate stays (as opposed to nights), so make sure you’re clear on that distinction. You can register for this promotion here.

  • Offer valid for stays now through January 31, 2020
  • Registered Hilton Honor participants must complete stay challenge and complete up to two paid stays during the Promotional Period to obtain Hilton Honors Bonus Points.

The fact that the terms state that the stays must be paid makes me believe that stays on points may not qualify for this bonus.

Hilton Playa del Carmen.

Targeted?

The language suggests that this offer might be targeted. For example, it states, “This offer is only valid and exclusive to the recipient of the email invitation.” However, I didn’t receive an email and when I attempted to register, I got confirmation that I was registered to start earning points. I’ve experienced the same thing with others.

So there might be a degree of risk with this offer if you didn’t receive an email but if you get confirmation on the registration page like I did, at least you’ll have a basis for requesting bonus points if something were to come up.

Double the promos

Keep in mind this is separate from the ongoing promotion that Hilton already has (“go more, get more points”) which allows you to earn points the following ways:

  • Members will earn double Hilton Honors Bonus Points beginning on their second stay during the Promotion Period.
  • Members will earn an additional Bonus once completing certain stay requirements:
    • Additional 10,000 Bonus Points after competing 10 stays
    • Additional 15,000 Bonus Points after completing 5 more stays (total of 15 stays within the promotion period)
    • Additional 20,000 Bonus Points completing of 5 more stays (total of 20 stays within the promotion period)
  • Promotion Stay Dates: May 6 – September 8, 2019

You still have around a month to take advantage of that promo. As always, you’ll need to register for the promotion in order to earn points. There are also ongoing status matches for Hilton Gold and Diamond (although I would prefer to just get Hilton status via credit cards and be done with it).

Hilton Playa del Carmen.

Final word

This is a nice little bonus to get with little to no effort if you already have stays planned. 7,500 Hilton points could be worth around $35 so if you already have Hilton stays coming up, there’s no reason why you should not take advantage of this offer.

New Way to Get to Europe for Cheap with British Airways!

There is an amazingly new efficient way to use miles and points to get to Europe. It might not be the best way to get there with maximum style and comfort but if you are trying to preserve points and/or you just want to enjoy Europe for a little while, this could still be a great use of your points.

British Airways fuel surcharges

British Airways fuel surcharges have always been some of the worst. For example, when using points to fly them on a premium cabin such as first class for business class, these fees could be well over $1,000 for a round-trip ticket.

There are some ways to lower these fees like routing through a city outside of London but for the most part you can anticipate to pay high surcharges when using points to book flights on British Airways.

However, that is now changing when it comes to many economy redemptions. It looks like that one way flights from the United States to the UK in economy (BA calls it “World Traveller”) on some routes are not being subject to those high surcharges anymore. Flights from JFK to LHR, for example, have fees under $100.

If you are not aware, British Airways uses a distance-based award chart that makes it very cheap to get to Europe from certain regions of the country, such as the East Coast. For example, during off-peak times you can get from New York (JFK) to London (LHR) for only 13,000 Avios (as shown above).

So now you have the opportunity to use a very small number of miles AND pay a moderate amount in fees to get over to the UK! Finally, this is more of a true sweet spot.

Get to London with low fees with BA now.

The deal is even sweeter right now (Amex bonus)

Right now there is the special offer where you get 40% more Avios when you transfer Amex Membership Rewards points through 10/1/19. This means that you’d only need 10,000 Membership Rewards to cover a one-way trip to Europe from the East Coast. That makes economy much more tempting.

If you were flying from the middle of the country like Houston , you’d need 16,250 Avios which would amount to only 12,000 Membership Rewards for the one-way journey. (Note: Not all routes from the US currently have the lower fees.)

If you’re like me and don’t care for economy, perhaps you could fly just one way in economy and then plan to shell out for some fees on the way back in business or first class? Or maybe look into booking premium cabins with Iberia or Aer Lingus which are known for lower fees. Either way, with this Amex bonus, this could be a real bargain for getting over to Europe.

Final word

If you’re okay with flying economy then there’s now a new great way to get to Europe with very reasonable fees. And if you have Amex Membership Rewards, you could get there with as little as 10,000 points and less than $100 in fees which is pretty fantastic.

Citi Double Cash Rewards Will Soon Convert to ThankYou Points!

The Citi Double Cash is one of the best cash back credit cards on the market. It earns 2% back on all purchases (when you pay your balance off in full each month) and there’s no annual fee. This makes it one of the leading cash back cards out there, but now the deal is going to get a little bit sweeter.

The new Citi Double Cash changes

Beginning in the fall of 2019, the Citi Double Cash will allow you to convert cash rewards from your Double Cash to Citi ThankYou points. Here’s what the changes state:

Coming in Fall 2019 your Citi Double Cash Card will allow you to convert your cash rewards to ThankYou Points which can be redeemed for gift cards, travel, purchases at select retailers, and more. For more details, please review the terms and conditions of your Citi Double Cash Card and the terms and conditions at www.thankyou.com

This is a big development for those people who go back and forth between cash back and travel rewards. But there are two big questions.

The first question is will you be able to transfer these points to travel partners? The answer seems like it would be yes (and many are assuming this is the case) but when you read the language above, it doesn’t specifically state that you will be able to do that. Not all ThankYou points can be transferred to travel partners so this isn’t outside the realm of possibilities.  (Citi may require you to hold a Premier or Prestige.)

The second big question is if you are able to transfer these points to partners, what is this transfer ratio going to be like? If the transfer ratio is 1:1 then that would mean that DoubleCash would be earning 2 ThankYou points on all purchases and come with no annual fee. That’s similar to the Amex Business Blue Plus which earns 2X on all purchases (but only up to $50K).

Given the way Citi has been butchering credit card benefits left and right, I just don’t see them introducing something crazy competitive and lucrative like a 1:1 ratio.

More likely we’ll see something like a 2:1 ratio or maybe 2:1.5. This would make the Citi Double Cash an interesting option for someone primarily concerned with earning cash back but also interested in transferrable points.

It would also be an interesting option since it’s still rare to have a no annual fee credit card that earns transferrable points. Citi has weird point expiration rules though so it probably wouldn’t be as beneficial as having a card like the Amex EveryDay which allows you to store all your Amex Membership Rewards points indefinitely while paying no annual fee.

Qatar Airways is a Citi TahnkYou partner with great products.

Should you get the Double Cash?

You might be wondering if you should get the Citi Double Cash in light of the new changes. The answer is probably not until we at least know the transfer ratio. Here are two major things you’d want to consider.

Sign-up bonus

There’s no sign-up bonus. We have seen the Citi Double Cash offer a sign-up bonus of $150 after spending $500 in the first three months of account opening but that offer is no longer available. But even if it returned, it wouldn’t be a lot of value.

Even if Citi got crazy and allowed a 1:1 ratio, that would only be 15,000 potential ThankYou points. So realistically, if that bonus returned it would be closer to something like 7,500 to 10,000 ThankYou points. Considering you can get 60K and 50K bonuses with the Premier or Prestige, the Citi Double Cash would not be a compelling option for up-front value.

Bonus earning

The Double Cash will continue to earn 2% back on all purchases which could work great in conjunction with other ThankYou points earning cards. If you’re wondering about other ThankYou earning cards and how they compare, here’s a quick breakdown:

Citi Premier

  • 3X on travel (including gas)
  • 2X on dining and entertainment

Citi Prestige

  • 5X on airfare
  • 5X on dining
  • 3X on hotels and cruises

So as you can see, there’s a need for a ThankYou points earning card for non-bonused spending and the Double Cash could be a great option for that if the transfer ratios are respectable.

If the ratio amounts to earning 1.5 ThankYou Points per dollar spent, that would be a great addition to either of the cards above and worth getting excited about. Anything more than that would be an absolute no-brainer.

Citi ThankYou partners

Here’s a list of Citi ThankYou partners in case you need to be refreshed:

  • Asia Miles
  • Avianca LifeMiles
  • EVA Air Infinity MileageLands
  • Etihad Guest
  • Flying Blue
  • JetBlue TrueBlue
  • Jet Airways JetPrivilege
  • Garuda Indonesia Frequent Flyer
  • Malaysia Airlines Enrich
  • Qantas Frequent Flyer
  • Qatar Airways Privilege Club
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  • Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus
  • Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Final word

This is very interesting news but we need confirmation that the points will transfer to travel partners and what that ratio will be before we get super excited. If it amounts to earning 1.5 ThankYou points per dollar spent (or close to it) that will be an exciting development and of course if it’s a 1:1 ratio that would make the Double Cash one of the best travel cards available (but I don’t see that happening).

New Hilton Promotion Q2 Summer 2019 (Double the Points)

Hilton has just announced its new summer promotion for 2019 called “go more, get more points.” It’s not the most lucrative promotion we’ve ever seen but it does offer some pretty good value allowing you to double up on your base points. I’ve got all the details for the promo and the sign-up link below.

The new Hilton promotion terms

  • Members will earn double Hilton Honors Bonus Points beginning on their second stay during the Promotion Period.
  • Members will earn an additional Bonus once completing certain stay requirements:
    • Additional 10,000 Bonus Points after competing 10 stays
    • Additional 15,000 Bonus Points after completing 5 more stays (total of 15 stays within the promotion period)
    • Additional 20,000 Bonus Points completing of 5 more stays (total of 20 stays within the promotion period)
  • Promotion Stay Dates: May 6 – September 8, 2019

A ‘stay’ is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again.

Overall, this is a decent promotion with double the points, especially on more expensive stays. (Since you can’t earn double the points on your first stay, you might consider booking a cheap stay before a much longer stay if that will allow you to earn lots of extra Honors points.)

The additional bonuses of 10,000, 15,000, and 20,000 bonus points are okay but since they require stays versus nights, that’s going to tougher for a lot of people to meet. I definitely would not go chasing these bonuses or alter my plans to earn a mere 10K Honors points after 10 stays.

However, if you already had some stays lined up then you could earn up to a total of 45,000 Honors points from this additional bonus since each bonus tier is added on separately. For short and cheap stays, that could be a decent deal.

The good thing is you should be able to earn these points at all Hilton properties and there is no limit on the number of points you can earn.

Register for the promotion

As always, you’ll need to register for the promotion in order to earn points.

Full terms and conditions

Offer valid for stays completed May 6, 2019, through September 8, 2019 (“Promotion Period”) at any hotel or resort within the Hilton Portfolio. Hilton Honors™ members must first register at HiltonHonors.com/GetMore prior to completing a stay within the Promotion Period. Registered Hilton Honors members checking in before May 6, 2019 will receive credit for their stay if the stay is completed after May 6, 2019 and prior to or on September 8, 2019.

Registered Hilton Honors members will earn double Hilton Honors Bonus Points beginning on their second stay during the Promotion Period, as well as an additional 10,000 Bonus Points upon completion of 10 stays, an additional 15,000 Bonus Points upon completing 5 more stays (for a total of 15 stays), and an additional 20,000 Bonus Points upon completing 5 more stays after that (for a total of 20 stays). For examples and further details, please see the FAQ page.

There is no limit to the total amount of Bonus Points that may be earned during the Promotion Period with this offer. However, there are restrictions on the amount of Base Points that can be earned on a single stay at certain brands.

This offer may be terminated without notice. Bonus Points do not count toward elite tier qualification. Please allow six to eight weeks from completion of your stay for Bonus Points to appear in your account. A ‘stay’ is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again. Offer is not valid for groups and cannot be combined with other select offers. In-Room Internet Access, Fitness Center/Health Club Access and Bottled Water benefits may not be complimentary at properties with a resort charge. Space-available upgrades only available at select brands. Elite status benefits are subject to availability and vary by brand. For more information, please visit HiltonHonors.com.

New 2019 Marriott Bonvoy Promotion (Double the Points)

Marriott Bonvoy has finally released the registration information for their new double the points promotion in 2019 called “Double Take.” I have all of the details for the new promo below and also have links for other hotel programs in case you have not signed up for their promotions.

The Offer

  • Earn double points on stays starting with your second stay
  • Marriott Bonvoy U.S. Card Members earn an exclusive bonus of 500 additional points for weekend stays  starting with the first stay.

A “weekend stay” is defined as a stay that includes a Friday or Saturday night regardless of where the hotel is located.

At most Marriott properties you will earn 10 base points per dollar spent so with this promotion you could up that to 20 base points per dollar spent. If you value Marriott points at around .8 cents per point then that is like getting 16% back, which is not bad.

While this promotion is not as rewarding for the cheaper stays (like the promos some other hotel programs are offering) this promotion could be more worthwhile for expensive stays. In fact, if you had a very expensive hotel stay coming up you might consider burning one night at a cheap hotel just to get that one stay requirement out-of-the-way.

Register for the offer

You must register for this offer to earn points!

Update: Link Fixed! Sorry about that!

Some people have had trouble registering through the link and have had to call in in order to register.

And just in case you have not registered for other hotel promotions you can find links to those below:

  • IHG Promotion — Varies

Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong OZONE.

Key Terms

  • Register for this promotion by May 21, 2019
  • The double points earning is only applicable to members’ base points earned per stay.
  • The promotion earning period is for stays between March 19, 2019 and June 4, 2019
  • A ‘stay’ is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity
  • Only one room per hotel is counted toward a member’s nights or stay.

Final word

Since this was the very first promotion offered by the new program you may have expected a more lucrative offer. However, the ability to get double the base points on stays after your first stay + 500 points on weekend stays is still a pretty decent deal, especially if your stays are on the pricier side.

New (Valuable) Hyatt Promotion 2019!

World of Hyatt is now offering a solid new promotion that you’ll definitely want to sign-up for since it’s one of the better promotions, allowing you to earn as much as 1,500 Hyatt points per night! Read on below for more of the key terms.

The Offer

You can earn up to 1,500 bonus points depending on the type of Hyatt properties that you stay at.

  • Earn up to 1,500 Bonus Points per qualifying night starting with your second stay through May 15
    • Earn 1,000 Bonus Points per qualifying night at 800+ Hyatt hotels, participating M life Rewards destinations and participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World hotels
    • Plus, earn an additional 500 Bonus Points per qualifying night when those nights are at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels

If you value Hyatt points at 1.5 cent per point, then 1,000 points comes out to $15 worth of travel back for each qualifying night. That’s not bad at all, especially if you’re booking nights on the cheaper side.

If you are paying cash for a stay and earning points with the World of Hyatt Card (4X), Discoverist+ status (5.5X+), and this promotion, your rebate on spending could be well over 20% depending on the price of the hotel night so this can be a very lucrative deal all around.

Final word

Earning 1,000 to 1,5000 extra Hyatt points per night is a great rebate in my opinion and it’s fantastic that even free nights count towards the promotion. I definitely recommend registering even if you don’t have any plant to stay at a Hyatt property just so you are prepared.
