Hotels with kitchens are not as rare as you might think. In many major cities and bigger towns, you can find a hotel with a stove and oven that rivals an apartment room with a fully equipped kitchen.
In this article, you will learn what hotel brands always have a fully equipped kitchen. Then I will share some hotels that have kitchens in cities within the United States like New York City, Washington DC, Orlando, and Los Angeles.
Hotel kitchen vs kitchenette
Kitchens and kitchenettes are often thought of as the same thing, but in reality it’s a little more complicated than you might think.
What is a kitchen?
A kitchen typically is spacious and offers full-sized appliances like a stove, microwave, sink, and refrigerator. Sometimes you also might find an oven and dishwasher, depending on the country. For example, the US is huge on ovens, but Japan isn’t so big on ovens.
Hotels that describe a room with a kitchen will typically offer all of these appliances at an appropriate size that is similar to an apartment or house.

What is a kitchenette?
A kitchenette can be a little vaguer than a kitchen. As we know, a kitchen has somewhat of a size and appliance standard, while a kitchenette is smaller and might only have a refrigerator and microwave.
Yet, not every kitchenette will only have a refrigerator and microwave. Some kitchenettes might have a washing machine. Some might have a super-tiny stove. Sometimes, you might even encounter a kitchenette with an oven, but that’s more uncommon than common.
The point is, a kitchenette is a vague and loose term so you need to be mindful of that when booking a room with a kitchenette as there isn’t really a kitchenette standard.
For example, I stayed in a Holiday Inn Suites hotel, they had rooms that had a “kitchenette.” I expected a stove as I noticed it had a full-sized refrigerator, washing machine, and microwave, but as you can see in the photo below, there was no stove. So, always be mindful of what appliances are in a room that is labeled with a kitchenette.
What hotel brands have kitchens or kitchenettes?
There are many hotel brands around the world, but I will go over the major hotel brands that are part of IHG, Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, Choice, Wyndham, Best Western, and Accor.
With 5,723 hotels worldwide, you will not have a hard time finding an IHG property in the country you visit. Out of the 17 IHG brands, there are two that offer kitchens in every one of their properties in the respective brand.
IHG brands that offer kitchens at every property
- Staybridge Suites
- Candlewood Suites
- Holiday Inn Club Vacation (only villas have fully equipped kitchens)
Staybridge and Candlewood Suites are all-suite select properties that cater to people that want a room with a fully equipped kitchen at a good value. At both Staybridge and Candlewood Suites, you can expect a full-sized stove, microwave, refrigerator, sink, and dishwasher at every property. Sometimes you might be able to find a property with an oven.
For Holiday Inn Club Vacation properties, they offer villas that have a fully equipped kitchen. You will find everything you can think of in the villa, including an oven.
With the IHG Rewards Club program, you can earn and redeem points at these properties while also receiving light elite benefits if you are an IHG elite.
IHG brands that don’t offer kitchens at every property
- InterContinental Hotels & Resorts
- Kimpton Hotels
- Regent Hotels
- Six Senses Hotels Resorts & Spas
- Hualuxe Hotels
- Crowne Plaza
- Even hotel
- Holiday Inn Hotels
- Holiday Inn Express
- Holiday Inn Resort
While these IHG brands won’t offer kitchens at every property, some of the properties will offer kitchens or kitchenettes for certain rooms at specific properties.
For example, you can find some InterContinental, Voco, and Holiday Inn properties that offer select suites with a kitchenette or fully equipped kitchen. The same is true with Holiday Inn Club Vacation properties having villas with fully equipped kitchens.
With 5,757 hotels worldwide, you will not have a hard time finding a Hilton property in the country you visit. Out of the 17 Hilton brands, there are two that offer kitchens in every one of their properties in the respective brand.

For example, you can find some Hilton Grand Vacation and Embassay Suites properties with kitchens. Sometimes other brands, like Hilton Hotels & Resorts will have a kitchen for their top-level villas or suites. You just need to keep an eye out for certain rooms at specific properties.
There are 6,906 Marriott hotels worldwide with 30 Marriott brands. You can easily find luxury and premium Marriott properties with a good amount of select properties in the Americas. Out of the 30 brands, there are five Marriott brands that offer fully-equipped kitchens.

- Marriott Executive Apartments
These five Marriott brands above offer fully-equipped kitchens at every one of their properties. Four of these are hotel brands, which are Residence Inn, Towneplace Suites, Marriott Executive Apartments, and Element. These brands will offer stoves, microwaves, and fridges. Some might offer dishwashers and ovens.
Then there is Home & Villa branded luxury shared houses and villas around the world, similar to Airbnb but are managed by Marriott. As these are houses and villas, expect huge kitchens, similar to what you might find in a house you might buy or rent.

As always, some of these brands will offer kitchenettes and fully-equipped kitchens at certain properties worldwide. For example, I stayed at the Westin Los Cabos two-bedroom villa with a fully equipped kitchen, but that doesn’t mean every Westin property will have a fully-equipped kitchen. Other Westins won’t even offer a kitchenette.
The same goes true with other brands from Marriott where some might offer kitchens in their residence suite. An example would be the Sheraton Grand Adana where the residence suite I got upgraded to as an Ambassador Elite had a fully equipped kitchen.
As always, you might find a luxury to select branded properties that offer kitchens. You just need to keep an eye out for certain rooms at specific properties.
With 777 Hyatt properties in the United States and worldwide combined, you’re rather limited for choices. However, Hyatt has a solid portfolio that performs well with optional kitchens.

- Hyatt House
While Hyatt only has one brand that has kitchens at every property, Hyatt House, it’s not a bad option. Compared to other select brands, Hyatt House is more consistent and solid. At every Hyatt House, you can find a full-sized kitchen with a stove, sink, fridge, dishwasher, and sometimes an oven.
As a World of Hyatt Globalist elite, you will be offered upgrades and late check-out. Even lower World of Hyatt elite tiers, you can receive small benefits like late check-out and extra points — all from holding the Chase Hyatt credit card.

Outside of the four kitchen brands mentioned above, these Choice brands don’t offer much when it comes to kitchens. I had a hard time finding kitchens in some of these properties, so don’t press your luck out for finding kitchens at these select properties.
9,000 Wyndham properties are worldwide making it one of the biggest hotel chains in the world surpassing its competitors. However, there is only one brand that always offers a kitchen at every property making it slightly limited for finding a hotel with a kitchen.
Wyndham brands that offer kitchens at every property
- Hawthorn Suites
Hawthorn Suites is the one and only brand offered by Wyndham that offers a kitchen at every one of its properties. It’s a select property having a hard time competing with the likes of Marriott, Hilton, and IHG, but it still is a great option when other brands aren’t available.

Having a kitchen in a hotel room can make a world of difference for saving money and having extra room for preparing light meals. Even though I don’t cook, having a kitchen comes in handy for the huge dishwasher, plates, cutlery, and the ability to make some soup noodles when needed.
I hope this article helps you cook something great during your next stay.

Thanks for this updated article.
It appears you inserted the word Choice , instead of Wyndham, in the title of 2.6.2.
Please consider expanding your travels to San Francisco 🙂
Ahh, thank you for catching that!
